We are so proud to announce that our Front of House Manager Lily Gaspar has made Hotel Management’s annual “Thirty Under 30” list!
Lily joined us in 2019, and quickly infused the team with her passion for hospitality and the guest experience. With a family background in the industry, hospitality runs through Lily’s veins, and she strives to surprise and delight every guest who walks through our doors.
A peaceful night’s slumber for each of our guests is of the utmost importance to us, so we decided to celebrate this National Poetry Day (7th October 2021) with a selection of some of our favourite poems about sleep and dreaming.
Whether you are reading this under your own roof or right here with us, we hope that these poems inspire a perfect night’s sleep tonight…
Monna Innominata [I dream of you, to wake] – Christina Rossetti
I dream of you, to wake: would that I might Dream of you and not wake but slumber on; Nor find with dreams the dear companion gone, As, Summer ended, Summer birds take flight. In happy dreams I hold you full in night. I blush again who waking look so wan; Brighter than sunniest day that ever shone, In happy dreams your smile makes day of night. Thus only in a dream we are at one, Thus only in a dream we give and take The faith that maketh rich who take or give; If thus to sleep is sweeter than to wake, To die were surely sweeter than to live, Though there be nothing new beneath the sun.
The entire team at The Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa work incredibly hard to ensure an unrivalled guest experience for every moment of their stay with us. Our housekeeping team are no exception, continually pushing themselves to ensure every single bedroom and suite is pristine and ready to wow our guests.
This summer has been especially challenging for our housekeeping team owing to COVID-related recruitment issues, and so to show how much we value everything they do this Housekeeping Appreciation Week, we arranged for seven surprise treats for the whole team, to reward them every day this week!
We want to share our hidden acre of gardens with as many people as possible, so this year for the first time we joined The National Garden Scheme to open our gardens to the public in exchange for donations to the Scheme’s various nursing charities. Our two open days, on 5th and 6th July, raised over £900 for the Scheme, through online and cash donations.
We hope everybody is having an interesting week so far. As for us, we feel like we have woken up in an episode of Hedgehog Bridgerton!
We had a hot tip from Lady Whistledown that an amorous local male hedgehog has been paying our rescue hedgehog Daphne unchaperoned visits, resulting in four very cute baby hoglets. Check out this footage of our newest guests, captured by our Night Manager Patryk and our Server Lukasz.
